Mochi
Mochi (餅, もち) is a Japanese rice cake made from mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice, and sometimes other ingredients such as water, sugar, and cornstarch. The rice is pounded into a paste and poured into the desired shape. In Japan, it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki (餅搗き).[1] Although eaten all year round, mochi is a traditional dish for the Japanese New Year and is often sold and eaten during this time.
The term "mochi" is also widely used these days to indicate the softness of a product. All products in this collection are as soft as real mochi.
